Nora has painted some of her father’s country, called Kunawarritji, far to the south west of Balgo Hills along the middle stretches of the Canning Stock Route. The circles depicted in the painting are parma or hills while the triangular shape is a billabong. The parallel lines show the tali or sand dunes. The fields of dotting represent the variety of bush food found in the area. Some of the food found here includes the bush seeds; tjiparri, yukarri, maldurrpa, lungunpa and miyurdur which is sweet seed eaten raw as well as kumbraht, a type of bush raisin which is plucked off low bushes and eaten raw.
