This story has been passed on to Pansy by her mother and her maternal grandfather. It represents country at Illpilli – about 400km west of Alice Springs towards the Western Australian border. This is the place where a hailstorm hit the community creating great damage. The large hailstones went deep into the ground and now the water that bubbles out of the spring there is cold, cold water. Pansy shows her mother’s country to one side and her father’s country to the other. Her mother’s side has more roundels representing that side of her family.
