A self explanatory title! These are paintings from the east Kimberley – Warmun (Turkey Creek), Halls Creek, Kununurra and about. Ochre is the pigment made from ground up rock. It is mixed with an acrylic binder, usually PVA wood working glue, and a little water. The textured finish imparts the connectedness with country so redolent of this important region.
