Lugunta is the Aboriginal name for the thylacine or Tasmanian Tiger. Mick shows this animal making tracks as it moves around its territory, hunting and marking boundaries with its scat. It prefered to hunt in cleared areas. The Tasmanian Aboriginal people would burn the bush regularly each year or two to reduce the litter and open up the country for hunting. The new grass and leaves would attract the wildlife back to fatten and in turn become prey for the people and the animals.
