This painting depicts two seated men of the Jakamarra skin group at Winburi. They are shown with their spears and woomeras. The two wavy lines represent red sandhills. The circles represent body paint all over each others skin. Pansy painted this major work (possibly her largest ever) for Michael Davies in Port Augusta in 2007 along with a number of smaller works. Art Mob purchased these paintings from Michael Davies in March 2013. A valuation certificate issued by Semon Deeb Fine Arts Valuer accompanies the documentation, valuing the painting at A$25,000 in October 2009. Winburi is the phoenetic pronunciation of Winpirri or Wiyinpirri, a rockhole in the eastern part of the Ehrenberg Ranges. Another of Pansy’s paintings from 1987 shows this rockhole imagery and that painting was exhibited in Hank Ebes’ exhibition Nangara in Bruges, Belgium.
