Born on the banks of the Sturt Creek on the Northern edge of the Great Sandy Desert, the artist grew up and worked as a housekeeper on Sturt Creek Station until the late 1960’s. This work shows Lirrejapal (Frog) dreaming country on Sturt Creek in the Great Sandy Desert. When the floodwater recedes and the ground begins to harden and crack Lirrejapal goes underground and can hibernate for many years or until the next flood comes.
