The pig face is a moist food in a dry climate and grows in sandy soil through out Tasmania. This painting represents the women collecting the pig face fruit around the dunes. The blue/grey represents the pig face spreading over the dunes. The different patches represent the flower colours. Pig face is a succulent and the leaves are quite similar to Aloe vera – juicy and with healing properties. These laeves were also used as a salad by our Aboriginal people.
