The story:
The red ochre used in the background of my work was collected from Red Ochre Beach which is a spiritually significant area to the Aboriginal people. The red ochre is important because it represents Mother Earth. The women collect the ochre and the men wear it for body painting. The White lines represent the basket weavers.
