Woka is a Yorta Yorta word for earth and land. Ros has used the original wood blocks that her 2010 graduation prints were printed from as a collage. The area around them has been carved with her totemic material and then varnished using yakka gum. The imagery from the blocks is derived from the possum skin cloaks – the maiden punt cloak and Lake Condha cloak as used by her mother & grandmother’s people in northern Victoria – Yorta Yorta country.
