Theresa has painted her mother’s country which is located near Balgo Community. The painting depicts Tjurnu a sacred rock hole surrounded by the different features of the country spinifex and desert trees as well as pura (bush tomatoes) and kantijilyi (raisins). The different shades of colour represent the different types of bush foods and low scrubby trees in this area. When people talk about this deep desert country, they talk about an abundance of bush food available for eating. Theresa’s work is an expression of this abundance. Theresa is the third daughter born to Brandy Tjungurrayi and Nowee Nangala.
