Ros has depicted one of the 2 remaining crafts still practised by the Tasmanian Aboriginal women – the craft of basket weaving. Fibres are collected from reeds, grasses, seaweed and other plants. After processing exquisite articles are woven by the women. This painting was selected by te Arts School, University of Tasmania, as the lead painting work for their 2009 end of year art school catalogue. It was also selected by Art Mob’s director Euan Hills as an entrant for the 2010 Telstra National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art Awards.
