In this work Alice depicts the abundant bush berries, or pura (pronounced poo-rah), sometimes referred to as bush tomatoes. They are found around west of Kintore area, Alice’s country. Before consuming this delicacy, the berry’s seeds are removed by scraping out the insides. The seeds are inedible due to their toxicity. Only the flesh part of the berry is consumed.
