The symbology shown on the 2 glass panels represents part of the skinship system of the Warlpiri tribal people north west of Alice Springs. The squares show father and son. In this case Sam Juparulla Wickman represents himself as one square and the other represents his tribal father Malcolm Jagamarra – the elder who along with 2 others took Sam through initiation in 2003. The vertical lines represent body painting used during ceremony.
