This painting is based on the imagery used for body painting during traditional inma (ceremonial) dance. The vertical lines are painted on the top part of the body. The horizontal lines represent a decoration of beads strung originally on hair over one shoulder and across the body. Body painting enhances the appearance of the participant as well as identifies the particular ceremony. Colours used are the traditional yellow, red and white ochres and black from charcoal. Dance, language and song are integral to the life of traditional Aboriginal people. Inawinytji holds this knowledge and is a regular participant. Inma is carried out for increase ceremonies – to ensure a relationship is secured or the continuation and plentiful supply of food.
Cash – locally only – up to $10,000 only. Layby facilities available. Card details can be advised securely using WhatsApp.
