In this painting the artist depicts designs associated with the Kunga Kutjarra (Two Women) Dreaming at the Winpirri Rockhole east of the Ehrenberg Range.
In mythological times the Kunga Kutjarra (Two Women) travelled to this site from Kampararrpa. Another ancestor, an old man of the Jakamarra subsection followed the two women from Kampurarrpa to this site.
The sinuous lines represent running water. Underneath this, another layer of this painting shows the designs women paint on the breasts, shoulders and arms when they do ceremony at this site. These are represented aby the circles in the middle of the painting, the lines running out from either side, and other markings. This deeper dimension of the painting emphasises the mythological aspect of this Dreaming, and the connections between the Dreamtime and the present.
Pansy Napangardi is the sister of artists Eunice Napangardi and Rene Robinson. The artist inherited this Dreaming from her Grandfather.
