Kaningarra is Susie’s traditional country located west of Balgo in the Great Sandy Desert, along the top of the Canning Stock Route. This is the country in which Susie hunted and lived in as a young woman with her family. Susie has painted an abundance of tjunda, or bush onion and tjirrilpatja, or bush carrot, which is found on the grassy plains between the hills of the area. The prominent horizontal line running through the centre of the painting is a little killiki (creek).
