This is a story about Aboriginal trade where Warlpiri people travel across the country to the Kimberley to trade a variety of different material objects, the main tradeable item was pitchuri – a narcotic product – in exchange for the pearl shell from Broome. On the journey back to the centre of Australia the pearl shell was drilled and strung with human hair and then fastened to trees. In addition, the landscape was burned and we vbelieve the rain would follow us back across the desert.
