Rachel Jurra Napaljarri

This dreaming belongs to Rachel’s grandfather. It tells the story of the ancestral Kangaroo Man who journeyed from the Warlpiri country north west of Yuendumu to Uluru (Ayers Rock) and back. This painting shows a subset of that journey. The tracks of the kangaroo man can be clearly seen with the 2 front paws and the tail marks. There is a man (U shape) with his spear and the end of the journey or song line as the central element. Rachel shows the surrounding grasses and countryside with interesting technique.
