This painting shows a group of albino echidnas moving across the bush after a bush fire has gone though. The fire cracks up the ants’ nests making their food source easily accessible.
The inspiration for this painting comes from the book “The Cotton Papers – The Land of the Sleeping Gods”. The story of Echidna: Mimla, the Spiky One was related by Toli to Henry Cotton at Kelvedon in the 1830’s.
