My Mother’s Dreaming from the Gibson Desert to the Simpson Desert. This image is from a tjuringa (sacred stone) modified to tell the story of one of my mother’s major songlines relating to women’s breasts. My mother picks this songline in the Gibson Desert at a rock shelter called Purajarpa. They travelled with this songline past Uluru, Watatarku to the James Range south of Alice Springs and then north to a place called Wulargi. That’s when my mother leaves it and the Warlpiri people take it further north.
