This is the story of how the black swans came to be. The story was related to perhaps the one of the last full blooded Tasmanian Aboriginal persons, Timler, by P-Tapte, one of the chiefs of the Minna Parlevar (Lagoon People) on the East Coast, who died in 1820. The story is told in The Cotton Papers – The Land of the Sleeping Gods pages 86 to 87.
