This Silk Screen print depicts a dreaming of a rock hole west of Yuendumu which is indicated by the concentric circle. This is an important area where Muliera, or young men’s initiation ceremonies are performed. Don is a senior custodian of this area and as such he acts as a ‘teacher’ during the initation. The dotting also represents a plant ‘Wamulu’, which is crushed up and coloured with various ochres and plastered over the participant’s body, in keeping with the theme of the ceremony. The background design indicates rejuvenation of plant life after the rain.
