Bai Bai has painted a Tjukurrpa (Dreamtime) story for some of her traditional country, south of Balgo, in The Great Sandy Desert. The country here is called Mintirr, and is a section of steep, rocky country, separating tali, or sand dune country to the south and the plains country to the north. The central circle is a large rockhole where people would travel to collect water. The Tjukurrpa (Dreamtime) snake, Purruju came to this palce bringing with him the kulata (spear), wanna (digging stick), woomera (spear thrower), koodiji (shield) and marrkura (water scoop). The snake fired up the country in order to see the country clearly, seen in the orange dotting, before coming to rest inside a cave.
