This painting is the story about the little sugarbag bees that make their honey from the roots of the gum tree flowers and the coolibah trees. The different coloured dots represent the honey, leaves and eggs of the bees. The green is the leaves and flowers, the yellow is the honey, the white is the flower and eggs, and the red dots are the soil of where the roots of the trees are, from which the bees extract the sap.
