This painting shows a cave system under the ground in Warlpiri country west of Yuendumu in the Northern Territory. Warlpiri people used to live in these caves in the limestone country of the Tanami Desert. They would gather bush foods in the surrounding country. The U shapes indicate the women and the line alongside is their digging stick. The roundels indicate camp sites and the joining lines show tracks between those camp sites. The multicoloured dotting is a key feature of this painting giving a 3D feel to the work. The different coloured areas are different parts of the geography around that area.
