Rachel is showing the way that her Warlpiri women go out and collect wattle seeds from under the wattle trees. The seeds form quite a thick mat and need to be dug up with a digging stick. They then winnow the seeds by throwing them into the air from their coolamons (wooden bowls). These seeds are then ground up using a grindstone and the resultant flour is mixed with salt and water to form a bush damper. This damper is cooked in the ashes of a slow fire.
