Description – Daudai Ngu Udan in Western Torres Strait Language means Trading Items.
These two canoes depict canoes travelling to the Papua New Guinea coast for traditional trading.
Many different items including animals were traded with PNG coastal villagers.
There is a strong cultural and economic connection between the Torres Strait Islands and Papua New Guinea.
This is an edition of 15 with 1 artist’s proof. It was printed in blue-black (indigo) by Editions Tremblay in February 2021 in one run using resin-based Scott-Tremblay Master inks on heavy rag paper with watercolour.
