Wayath from woeydhul, Wagadagam, a Torres Strait legend of magics was known for his powers to control natural means. A well known account describes Wayath taking a feathered wing of a man-o-war hawk and blowing it into the water, transforming itself into a canoe to navigate his journey from Woeydhul, in the east. Thus creating a historic and spiritual connection that remains to this day, between the Western, Central and Eastern islands of Zenadth Kes. Wayath navigated this travel by following the sound of beating drums in the distance.
