Tooth Medicine.
Gaibau Pui grows along the coastal beaches of Badu Island. When someone has a very bad tooth ache, he or she will be advised by a medicine man or woman, usually an older aged person.
They will advise the sick person to go to the beach. Usually they will accompany them.
When arriving at the plant medicine, the medicine man will advise the sick person to dig on the southern side of the tree and break the root of the medicinal tree of Gaibau Pui.
Then the sick person will wash the root in the sea and then mash it up with a stone. Then he or she will then chew the sap of the root and gargle it in their mouth. The tooth ache slowly goes away after 2 to 3 hours.
