Albert Namatjira Jnr

This painting actually is of Glen Helen Gorge in the West MacDonnell ranges, west of Alice Springs, on the road to Papyunya and Haasts Bluff. The gorge is one of seven permanent water holes on the Finke River system and is a sacred site for the local Aboriginal people. Art Mob purchased this painting along with another of the same site shortly after Albert Junior’s death in August 2013. His family did not have sufficient funds to pay for his funeral and proceeds from Art Mob’s purchase assisted with his funeral expenses.
