Jimmy McKenzie

Jimmy McKenzie was born on Texas Downs Station Station. This painting depicts Fish Hole, which is located east of Warmun Community. Jimmy remembers going here as a young boy with his mother Queenie McKenzie. There are many good deep waterholes at Rinygirriny. Traditional waterholes like this were critical to survival during the Dry Season, for not only did they provide water but also fish, turtle and crustacean. At Rinygirriny there are tall rounded red hills surrounding the waterhole.
