In this painting David depicts woman and children collecting bush onions at Mt Wedge. The woman and children are symbolised as the “U” shapes. The concentric circles with feathered strokes represent sites where the ladies have found and are collecting the bush onions. David has also depicted men as the “V” shapes looking for bush onions, but not succeeding. The two concentric circles on the outer sides are the sacred sites of the emu dreaming that are performed by the Tjapaltjarri men only, which have been passed down from David’s Grandfather. The background dotting design between the thick black curvy lines represents the salt lake at Mt Wedge. The yellow and brown dotting depicts lightning and the rejuvenating effect on country after the rain.
