One day Old Man Geelar went out hunting for bush turkey and goanna. He gather up lots of bush tucker and put it in a big coolamon. Not far in a nearby water hole he was being watched by a rainbow snake. Then Old Man Geelar and the rainbow serpent had a fight over the turkey and the goanna. Old Geelar threw the coolamon full of bush food into the water and killed the rainbow serpent. That’s why every time the rain ends a rainbow with pretty colours goes into the sky. The rainbow shows the colours of the bush food that was in the coolamon.
