Ningura Napurrula

This painting concerns women’s business and in particular depicts a rockhole site in the western desert where women would go to give birth to their babies. The painting shows these lovely surfaced rock formations with women preparing for ceremony. The thick textured and strongly contrasting painted imagery is very typical of this Pintupi elders work.
