The story:
The artist is showing a plan view of country around Kaanpi near the SA/WA border to the west of the Pitjatjantjarra country. This is William Sandy’s mothers country where the ancestral Emu Man kept his two wives. He depicts the movement of these ancestral beings as they moved from site to site. Today we see that country as sandhills, dried up waterholes and creek beds.
