Well now, everyone knows about the Wolfe Creek Crater down Halls Creek way. Let me tell you now, there are two others just the same but smaller. Made from those stars falling out of the sky the old people say and I believe them. The other two are called Piccaninny Crater and Goat’s Yard Crater (also known as Goat’s Paddock). None of them hold any water for long – it goes straight through the bottom. This one here is Goat’s Yard Crater – hot time and looking dry and all around no grass anywhere. Down further there to the east is a proper rock hole – it holds a lot more water than a crater and for longer – still a bit salty but OK for the animals – I wouldn’t be drinking it though.
