Tingari refers to Joseph’s ancestors who were responsible for the creation of his home country. Tingari people travelled large tracts of desert, creating natural features, laws and songs, ensuring their survival. Joseph’s depiction of this story contains secretive information. This is integral to his culture and the continuity of physical, cultural and spiritual life in the Western Desert.
