Leigh Oates

The painting represents a vein. The ants represent the people flowing through a community like blood through a vein. People in a community come from different backgrounds, have different cultures and beliefs. This is represented by the different coloured dots (gravel) surrounding the ants and the two veins flowing into one. The white dots (eggs) represent the future generations. The area between the eggs and hands represents the obstacles encountered on this journey. The hands are a symbol of care and support.
