The story:
This painting is of Meriyin, a special place where old people set up a village in the early days. Gardiya (whitefellas) call it Horse Creek. Many old people used to live there and the gardiya couldn’t find them. Through the back way (at the top of the painting) the people could get to Purnululu (Bungle Bungles).
