This painting tells one of the many water dreamings from the Papunya area. The different coloured lines represent the elements of a storm – wind, rain, thunderclouds and lightning. The four brown lines are the water flowing, flooding the usually dry creek beds. Knowledge of where to find water was handed down from generation to generation to ensure survival in the desert. This painting was exhibited as one of the three signature works in Art Mob’s January 2008 exhibition “Water Dreamings”.
