This painting represents women (‘U’ shapes in the centre) having a ceremony in honour of the Bush Orange. The yellow and green stripes either side symbolise the bush potato. These lines indicate ceremonial body paint which the women paint on their breast. They would also decorate their chest, forearms and bodies with feathers for ceremonies and dance with ceremonial objects including the nulla nulla’s (ceremonial dancing pole) and coolamons (wooden dishes used to collect bushtucker). Next to the women, are their digging sticks and coolamons.
