This story is about willy wagtail. This bird is shown jumping about everywhere. This story comes from the big hill at Mount Liebig. It links the hill to the hill at Kintore. Fabrianne Nampitjinpa Peterson, a close friend of Veronica Dixon, explained this story to gallery director, Euan Hills. A woman gave birth to a baby and made a big windbreak to keep the baby warm. Another woman also gave birth to a baby and it was an ugly one and she came and swapped her ugly baby for the goodlooking one. This naturally upset the mother. Various exchanges happened. The mother who knew her baby had been swapped turned herself into a will wagtail and went searching all over the country for that baby. Her footprints were everywhere. Veronica has used the arrowhead like bird’s footprint replicated manyfold to produce the imagery for this painting.
