This painting relates to the stolen generation and everything associated with it. It colud also come as a divorce and the kids suffering. It could also come as kids being taken away from their families as happened with Marilyn. Also marriage breakdown and adoption of children. The artist herself was taken from her family at the age of 11 and now at 54 years old she has little connection with her family. The central motif shows parents and children linked together as a normal family. The remainder of the painting shows broken links.
