“This is my country at Muthanoongamaya – Madjalindy near Port Keats in the Northern Territory. Flowing diagonally at the centre of the image is Madjalindy Creek. “I was born here.” On either side of the creek the circles represent dreaming places. Above, amongst all the billabongs are the dreaming places for Ngoonborliny – the Whip Snake and below amongst the stones and rocks is Madjalanj – Lightning Dreaming. “Ngoonborliny – the Whip Snake, everywhere she was…During the Nyarrangarni the Whip Snake was a young woman. Everywhere she stopped and rested – sat down for a while and made that dreaming. ..These places are for Women’s Business.” For that Madjalandj place there is a cave…inside are paintings… “Around the edge of the painting are all the hills – my sister’s name Garringnarriyi is in the bottom right corner. In the bottom left is another hill – my other sister. In the top right is Nagarra and in the left – Goorrawoom.”
