Sylvia Djanghara

Sylvia Djanghara is a young artist from Kalumburu in the North Kimberley, W.A. She has painted an image of a wandjina – a spirit figure often painted on the rock walls in the Kimberley. The Wandjina is a powerful part of their culture and is usually depicted with a halo-like head piece that reflects the rain and lightning. She has also shown 4 fires, a bark coolamon and 2 bush bags filled with bush tucker. The 2 black female figures are dancing in ceremony.
