This painting shows Alice Springs as the cenral focus. The Traditional Owners (TO’s) have come to Alice Springs to meet to discuss native title matters. The countries or tribes that they represent are shown as the 4 quadrants in the corners of the painting and the country that they have crossed to get to Alice Springs is represented by the circular elements. This is an excellent example of fine dot work showing extraordinary care and stippling to give a wonderful texture. Marilyn’s works generally depict social issues as a modern day historian.
