The turtle is a slow moving creature, like the lands that belong to the Aboriginal people, slowly losing the lands. Our people once walked freely and hunted but over the years this culture has slowly haltered. The background colours are of the dream time where our people, the Aboriginal people hunted freely and walked the lands. This painting was exhibited in Behind Bars 2005 at Art Mob, Hobart, during Tasmanian Living Artists Week, August 2005.
