‘This is Yipirinya, Aranda Country (Alice Springs), Caterpillar Dreaming. My Father’s Mother’s people since the Dreamtime. Magnificent mountains, hilly country, with rock holes, waterholes, gaps, gorges, rivers, creeks, springs, too much water underneath where the old man lives. They are the Rainbow Serpents. Sacred creatures connected to my own clan in our country. I have a spiritual connection to this land, forever eternity, given by Ngarte to our people. Ngarte is the creator of all that is. The Boss, is what my dad told me. A land full of gold, and all the prettiest minerals, jewels, rocks, much of which is sacred to us, it’s why we don’t get around like millionaires, we never abuse these things. Ancestors watch over me. I’m always safe from any harm. Forever our sacred land, now for all to share. This is Yirpirinya, this is ancient land, forever.’
