“Our Brother Peter was born on Rukuthi close to White Cliff, he was the youngest of our family to leave our home land. I remember he refused to leave and wanted to stay behind, so when we were loaded onto the sailing ship my Mums started to look for him, and that’s when we saw him on the beach – my sisters and I started to cry out to the men to go back and pick him up. It’s my memory of him that I’ll always have, he’s gone now riding those waves back to Bentinck Island – following the stars as he goes.”
