This painting depicts an important Tjukurrpa (Dreamtime) story from beyond Yagga Yagga called Nakarra Nakarra. This is the story of seven sisters who are being chased by one man, a Tjakamarra. He is trying to sneak up on them as he would like to claim one as his wife. The women, all Napaltjarris, are too quick and he ends catching no one. The seven sisters are seen as seven notable hills in the plains beyond Yagga Yagga. The Tjakamarra is recognised by the U shape in the top left corner of the painting. This is Pauline’s mother’s country which she still visits regularly.
